Hole number 9 is a
slight dogleg right with the big drainage ditch running along the entire
left side of the fairway. From the elevated tee you have a large
grove of pine trees between you and the green. You have a choice
of going over or around them. If the drive doesn't fade you may
find yourself in the ditch. If you properly negotiate the trees
off the tee you find yourself in a level fairway with a very large trap
in front of the green. The trap creates a "false front"
that fools the eye into thinking the green might be closer than reality.
